How to Place an Order

Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse through our products and add the quantity of any items you wish to purchase to the shopping cart. This will automatically show all the items in your cart giving the option to amend any quantity, delete an item, continue shopping or proceed to checkout. Once at the Checkout you will be asked to complete a few details in order to process your order. If you opt to pay by card you will then be transferred to the  secure Paypal payment gateway to enter your credit/debit card details.

We accept Visa, Mastercard, Switch/Maestro, Solo, Electron & Delta using a secure server with full encryption so you can shop with confidence. Upon successful completion of your order you will receive a confirmation email. 

If you do not wish to make payment through our website you can of course place your order as above and opt to pay by cheque. Alternatively, you can call us on 0131 346 1121 to place your order over the phone and send a cheque in the post. Cheques should be made payable to ‘The Edinburgh Craft Shop Ltd’ and sent to the above address. Please include your postcode and order reference number on the back of the cheque.

Please note that we have a minimum order value of £5.00

Prices & VAT (Value Added Tax) 

All prices shown are in British Pounds sterling (GBP) and include VAT at 15% . 

Whilst we make every effort to ensure that all prices on our web site are accurate, errors may sometimes occur. If we find an error in the price of any item you have ordered we will inform you as soon as possible and give you the option of canceling or reconfirming your order at the correct price. In circumstances where we are unable to contact you we will treat the order as cancelled.  If you decide to cancel your order but have already paid for it, you will receive a full refund.

The Edinburgh Craft Shop Ltd  reserves the right to revise the price of items on the website at any time without notice.

We can only accept payment in British Pounds sterling (GBP), all other currencies will be converted to British Pounds sterling (GBP) by your card provider and as such you will be liable for any exchange rate charges made by that provider.

Availability

All goods are subject to availability and may be changed at any time. We try to keep our stock information accurate, however, if any item goes out of stock after your order has been placed you will be contacted as soon as possible and given the option of an estimated delivery date or a full refund. We do not operate a back ordering system for items which are already marked as out of stock at the time of placing your order.

  

Payments & Security

All payments via our website are securely processed by Paypal and as such are fully encrypted and not held in clear text on any website.  We accept Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, Solo, Electron & Delta using their secure server.

Upon processing an order, Paypal will send an electronic transaction receipt to the email address you provide.

   

Delivery

We wish to get your order to you as soon as possible and will process the majority of orders with 48 hours of receiving them (excluding Sundays and bank holidays). Most of our items are delivered first class by Royal Mail, however, some heavier items may be sent by Parcelforce or Royal Mail’s standard parcel service (you will be notified in this instance) and may therefore have a longer delivery time. If paying by cheque your order will be dispatched when the payment clears which can take up to 4 working days after receipt.  

Delivery within the UK is charged at a flat rate of £2.95 for all orders up to £40. Delivery is free for orders above this amount.

We regret that we can only deliver within the UK at this time. 

   

Returns & Refunds

Unless otherwise informed, please allow 10 days (from the date of your order) for delivery in case there have been any unforeseen delays. If you have not received the goods after this time please contact us via email.  

We make every effort to ensure that our goods reach you in perfect working condition but in the rare event that you should receive damaged or faulty goods please contact us within 7 days of receipt. We will arrange for the damaged or faulty goods to be exchanged or we will provide a refund of the cost of the goods (plus any reasonable postage costs incurred in the return of the goods) to the credit/debit card on which the purchase was made which may take up to 30 days.

In accordance with the European Directive on distance selling you have the right to cancel your order within 7 working days (starting from the day after the day you receive the goods). In this instance please notify us by email and return the unused goods to us in their original unopened packaging. We will issue a refund (excluding delivery costs) on receipt of these goods as long as they are in their original condition. Refunds can only be processed to the credit/debit card on which the purchase was made and will be processed within 30 days.  There is a cancellation processing fee of £1.00 for all cancelled orders. 

Please note that in the event of a return for any reason we cannot be held liable for the goods until we receive them and would therefore recommend, for your own protection, that you return the goods using a recorded delivery method which allows insurance up to the value of the goods.

   

Privacy Policy

We are committed to protecting your privacy. We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully (in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998).

We collect information about you for 2 reasons: firstly, to process your order and secondly, to provide you with the best possible service.

We will not e-mail you in the future unless you have given us your consent.

The type of information we will collect about you includes: your name, address, phone number & email address.

We will never collect sensitive information about you without your explicit consent.

The information we hold will be accurate and up to date. You can check the information that we hold about you by emailing us. If you find any inaccuracies we will delete or correct it promptly.

The personal information which we hold will be held securely in accordance with our internal security policy and the law. 

     

Safety

A lot of the craft items we sell are very small and can therefore be hazardous to young children. We recommend that you take the necessary precautions when working around children of a young age. Our products are not sold as toys.
